Eat Real Fest – It’s Not Just the Food

Oakland’s Eat Real Fest is going to be three days of food, food and more food. But to wash down all that grub? Plenty of alcohol is on tap as well for the weekend festivities.

The Rye on the Road team is creating this year’s cocktail program, which will highlight Oakland-based bartenders and their favorite cocktails. The Jam Bar will be the main beverage stage for the weekend with all cocktails at $7 and under. Below are a few of the daily highlights:

Friday, September 21:
Jack London BuckSKYY Vodka, Ginger Syrup, Lemon, Angostura, Soda, Mint
Espolon Blanco Margarita
Chai Tai - Flor de Cana 4 Year Extra Dry Rum, Chai Tea, Orgeat, Tiki Bitters, Orange Liquer, Lime

Saturday, September 22:
Basil GimletSKYY Vodka, Basil, Lime
Espolon Blanco Spicy Paloma
New Orleans BuckFlor de Cana 4 Year Extra Dry Rum, Orange Juice, Lime Juice, Ginger Syrup, Peychaud’s Bitters, Soda

Sunday, September 23
SKYY Vodka Bloody Mary
Espolon Blanco El Diablo
Flor de Cana Mojito

Several beers will also be offered during the three-day event.  At $5/glass, beer distributors include 21st Amendment, Ale Industries, Anchor Brewing, Anderson Valley Brewing, Beach Chalet Brewery, Bear Republic Brewery, Bison Brewery, Devil’s Canyon Brewing, Drakes Brewing, High Water Brewing, Iron Springs Pub and Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing, Linden Street Brewery, Magnolia Pub and Brewery, Marin Brewing, Moonlight Brewing, Pacific Brewing Laboratory, Southern Pacific Brewing, Speakeasy Ales and Lagers and Thirsty Bear Brewing.

Wines (once again, $5/glass) will include offerings from Carica Wines, Dashe Cellars, Left Stage Cellars, Periscope Cellars, R & B Cellars, Rock Wall Wine Company, Tayerle Wine, Two Mile Wines, Urban Legend Cellars and Urbano Cellars Winery.

On Friday, there will be a pair of Master Brewer panels. And on Saturday, Greg Lindgren from Rye on the Road will be holding a bitters-making demo.

Lots of great things on the drinking menu for the 2012 Eat Real Fest, being held September 21-23 at Jack London Square.
