Paella Mondays at Camino

Posted by Keith Mizuguchi on Aug 13, 2012 | Comments (0)

Camino chef Russell Moore is always cooking up something unique in his kitchen. His latest project on Monday nights is cooking up varieties of paella, a traditional Valencian rice dish.

Moore kicked off Paella Monday last week with a dish that featured local white sea bass, black-eyed peas, romano beans, fire-roasted peppers and grilled sausage, all cooked in Camino’s wooden fireplace. The Paella dinner comes with a salad and dessert as well.

Here’s what’s on tap for Monday, August 13:

Cucumber, smoky eggplant and fire-roasted pepper salads

Paella cooked in the fireplace with chicken, fresh black-eyed peas, cranberry beans, romano beans and chiles with sliced tomatoes

Wood oven-roasted sugar plums with grilled fig leaf ice cream

3 courses $35.

The Paella dinners will continue on Mondays for the entire month of August.

Camino is located at 3917 Grand Avenue in Oakland. The restaurant is open for dinner from 5:30-9:30 on Mondays.
