SF Chefs Dinner Party Project

Last week, we told you about some of the amazingly cool demos taking place, part of the lead-up to SF Chefs 2012. Another added feature this year: preview dinners with some pretty great chef pairings, the first of which is coming up on June 11.

The first will be held in flour+water’s Dough Room and will feature three very close friends: Thomas McNaughton of flour+water/Central Kitchen, Brandon Jew with Bar Agricole and pastry chef Belinda Leong. “I’ve known Belinda back since we were at Gary Danko together. We were actually roommates for quite awhile,” said McNaughton. “And Brandon and I go back to when we were both at Quince.”

McNaughton said coming up with the amazing menu (listed below) was pretty easy. “We sat in the new test kitchen above flour+water, opened a bottle of wine and started planning out the menu on the chalkboard.”

Probably one of the neatest aspects of all these preview dinners is the camaraderie and friendships exhibited amongst the chefs. McNaughton said it will be fun to work with two of his closest friends in the industry, “cooking and telling stories” of how they grew up together in kitchens around the Bay Area.

The only unfortunate thing: this dinner is officially sold out. As of now, there are no plans to open up a few more seats but we’ll keep you posted if it does happen. Below is the menu:
