Porchlight Series To Feature Culinary Theme

Posted by Keith Mizuguchi on Apr 16, 2012 | Comments (0)

Porchlight, which has been one of San Francisco’s premier storytelling series over the past nine years, is featuring a mix from the culinary world on Monday night.

Each month, Porchlight co-founders Beth Lisick and Arline Klatte invite six people from different backgrounds to tell ten-minute true stories, without the use of notes or memorization.

On Monday, April 16, storytellers will include Locanda Executive Chef Anthony Strong, barbecue expert Dontaye Ball, food writer Stephanie Nosrat, poet and career waiter Horehound Stillpoint and Mission bartender Rick Victorino.

The “Kitchen Confidential” theme has been a part of Porchlight for seven years running and is always one of the most popular events, with plenty of stories from the front and back of the house.

The Porchlight event is from 8-10 p.m and will be held at the Verdi Club on 2424 Mariposa St. Tickets are $15.

It's simple. Keith Mizuguchi loves to write and write and write some more. After taking a hiatus from the journalism business, he has rekindled his passion for writing over the last two years, holding a job as both a web and on-air writer for San Francisco news radio station KCBS. While he enjoys the news business, his true passions are twofold: sports and food. Bay Area born and raised, he lives in San Jose, commutes to SF and loves every minute of it.
